{Things To Do} Holiday Lights in Columbia, South Carolina

With December just around the corner holiday lights are appearing everywhere. Where are your favorite lights? These are a few of my favorite light shows:

Lights Before Christmas at the Riverbanks Zoo & Garden
"Columbia's longest running holiday tradition"
Now until December 30, 5-9PM

Holiday Lights on the River at Saluda Shoals Park

Standing in all her Glory!

Ignite your senses and experience a Winter Wonderland right here in the Midlands. Travel through a million sparkling lights with over four hundred animated displays each with their own special theme. Feel patriotic as you drive around a "United We Stand" inspired theme, complete with Lady Liberty herself. Don't miss the toy soldiers or the Christmas trees of the Dancing Forest swaying to holiday tunes. Then stroll down memory lane to the sights and sounds of the Twelve Days of Christmas.
Experience a Victorian Village with Victorian Carolers and gingerbread houses galore.  Next, hop on board the Red-Nose Express Hayride to the boardwalk. Then see nature at it's best as you walk along the Wetland Wonderland Walking Trail all beautifully lighted in the night sky.
Or saunter down a different wetland trail to experience the new laser light show while checking out the "Deck the Halls Holiday Door Display."
If you are more the adventurous type, tube down the 125 foot Winter Wonder Ride under lighted arches. Then end your evening with a visit to the concessions, crafting events, holiday gift store or by roasting marshmallows in the crisp night air. It's hard to believe this is all so close to home. Saluda Shoals Park is just one more place that makes Columbia so special around the holidays.

{Things To Do} A Starry Night at Five Points on December 3, 4-8PM

{Things To Do} A Starry Night at Five Points on December 3, 4-8PM

Fountain at Sunset!

SIP COCOA BY THE FOUNTAIN...SHOP TIL YOU DROP... AND STROLL THROUGH A STARRY NIGHT!

To commemorate its 100th birthday, Five Points is putting out all the stops and making this event the best Starry Night yet! Shops will be open late offering sales and items that cannot be found in large retail stores. Not only will they be discounting their unique items but they will be providing refreshments while you buy that special gift that you can't find anywhere else.

Let's support our small local businesses that have struggled since the flood. Take a horse carriage ride or if you prefer, come with a group and ride the 16 passenger bikes provided free by SC Pedal Parlor.

The amazing dancers from the Unbound Dance Company will be delighting the crowd with impromptu performances throughout the night. If you need to get cozy and warm, hot cocoa will be provided by the fountain, or sip your favorite wine by the fire, while listening to holiday tunes.

Five Points is Columbia's original village neighborhood and it has been serving up a unique artsy hometown vibe that can't be felt anywhere else. Get your holiday shopping done while having fun and making memories! Let's bring our friends and family... take pictures in the Holiday Photo Booth to preserve the memory and help Five Points celebrate their hundredth birthday in style!!

SPECIALTY SHOPS ABOUND!

Grab a reuben at Delaney's Irish Pub!
Starbucks for the coffee fanatic in all of us!

If you're hungry, sit back and relax and have a home-cooked meal from scratch in an American-style
style restaurant that has been in Columbia since 1976.  Homestyle cooking just like mom makes, with fresh ingredients from local ingredients.
